The Nursing Coordinator LPN is responsible for participating in and coordinating all clinical support activities in the Practice and for providing professional clinical assistance to patients within the practice supporting the physicians. Working directly with the physicians, the Nurse Coordinator is the liaison between the patient and the physicians for establishing and maintaining quality patient care and will perform all duties in accordance with clinic protocols and procedures.
Routine duties include but are not limited to the following:
*Vaccine/Injection Administration
*Infusions
*Phlebotomy
*Patient Education / Training
*Clinical Staff Training and Maintenance of Competencies
*Insurance authorization (Medications/Procedures)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  • Utilize clinical teamwork to oversee the interdisciplinary plan of care:

    • Assess the patient and family as appropriate
    • Participates in the planning and implementation of clinical care and facilitates its delivery to patients and family members
    • Participates in the evaluating the process and outcome of clinical services in the practice and makes suggestions for improvement
    • Document according to practice policies and procedures



  • Practice and promote professional clinical care within legal and ethical standards
  • Provide education/consultation as needed to other health care team members and to patients and families

  • Assist with determining appropriate staffing levels and recruitment efforts for new clinical staff

  • Assist with evaluating clinical staff performance and completion of performance evaluations
  • Assist with development and implementation of policies and procedures
  • Maintain adequate medical supply and pharmaceutical inventory and assist in placing orders as necessary
  • As a member of clinic management, ensure that the practice meets all code and accreditation standards (OSHA, DPH, JCAHO, CLIA, HIPAA)
  • Administer vaccinations and injectionsand other infusions as needed


  • Triage telephone calls and schedule urgent care appointments
  • Maintain frequent contact with outside providers and agencies to facilitate and coordinate patient care
  • Maintain professional license through practice-based continuing education programs

Job Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Graduate of an approved school of practical nursing.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (If none, please enter "N/A"):

Three (3) or more years in a clinical setting, preferably in office settings related to clinical department.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED (If none, please enter "N/A"):

Current license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

CPR & BLS certified upon hire (or within first 90 days of employment).

  • Requires strong computer skills and knowledge of the PC applications. Windows environment and Microsoft Office products required.
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written). Bilingual highly preferred.
  • Basic business writing skills required.
  • Excellent professional demeanor. Must be able to work effectively with all levels of staff and management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to show empathy and be courteous and diplomatic with patients.
  • Must frequently work independently, take initiative and handle multiple tasks with conflicting priorities
  • Team player with ability to work cross-organizationally to get issues resolved.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Compensation Range:

$25.72- $36.06

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
