Job Description

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

This individual will provide support to the Global Facilities Technologies department as part of the Reliability Engineering team. The Facilities Engineering Senior Specialist (Reliability Engineer) will have a lead role in the reliability engineering team for Vertex GMP and Non-GMP sites.. The Reliability Engineering Senior Specialist is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, providing technical support and SME knowledge, performing Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Criticality Assessments, Equipment Trend Reports, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to minimize equipment failures and maximize equipment availability. In this role you will also be responsible for identifying potential risks to minimize equipment downtime and optimize equipment efficiency through maintenance best practice, analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role will also be responsible for the creation, optimization, and implementation of preventive maintenance plans for all site equipment. This resource will collaborate with stakeholders from FacOps, Metrology, Engineering, Commissioning and Qualification, End users, Corporate Asset Management and Quality Assurance. This resource will use Good Engineering Practices as well as Maintenance and Reliability Best Practices to support operational readiness and continuous improvements across all Vertex sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage/Oversee site Reliability Engineering team.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Reliability Engineering assessments.
  • Drive continuous improvement of maintenance, calibration, and engineering service delivery, adopt, and deploy best practices across all Vertex sites.
  • Perform and review spare parts assessments to determine critical spares and recommended stock levels to minimize the likelihood of unplanned part-related downtime.
  • Help lead CMMS data specialist team for implementation of maintenance, calibration and spare parts improvements based on equipment trending, feedback to reliability and other continuous improvement initiatives/forums.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis on equipment to prevent future failures and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Conduct reliability assessments and analyses to identify potential failure modes and develop strategies for mitigation.
  • Develop and advance Reliability Engineering KPI's to improve equipment reliability and decision making.
  • Monitor equipment performance metrics to analyze data and predict potential failures.
  • Identify equipment design improvements to minimize unplanned downtime and optimize cost effectiveness.
  • Generate, manage, and maintain Reliability Engineering reports.
  • Support global reliability/resiliency/sustainability initiatives from site level.
  • Develop, grow, and advance the predictive maintenance programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or other relevant engineering discipline and 2-6 years of experience in Reliability Engineering, or comparable role.
  • Aptitude for mechanical and electrical systems. How they operate, how they fail, ways to extend equipment reliability and life
  • Strong people skills, including the demonstrated ability to manage through influence.
  • Understanding and familiarity with Reliability Engineering best practices/methodologies and maintenance best practices.
  • Experience in GxP or other similarly regulated environment with an understanding and application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field, GMP, ISO, GAMP, ANSI.
  • Experience working in a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and foster collaboration across all departments.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and KPI buildout.

Pay Range:

$102,200 - $153,300

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
