Role Description This role shall provide field oversight support for the Natural Resources Management (NRM) Systemwide Program on the Defensible Space team. Mid-level position capable of performing inspections, data entry, reporting, and project management. Familiarity with Maps+ and Field Maps applications. Field oversight support tasks include performing inspections of routine vegetation control and maintenance around facilities including assessments and oversight of brushing, string trimming, pesticide applications, and tree removals near PG&E assets including substations, non-linear gas facilities, telecom sites, service centers, and fee lands associated with those facilities in the field, completing desktop reviews of assigned inspection areas, field collecting spatial data within the approved GIS platform, completing inspection reports which include a clear, concise narrative description of current road conditions and suggested or prescribed work, photos, and maps, overseeing contractors performing construction and/or maintenance work, conducting safety engagements, and reporting any safety hazards, concerns, or conditions of nonconformance. These tasks will be assigned to the Field Technician by the Land Program Manager (LPM) assigned to the service territory. Field Technician 2 must be knowledgeable and capable of identifying and mitigating the inherent risks associated with field work, be able to communicate clearly and effectively to internal and external clients, maintain a professional standard of work and behavior, and provide complete deliverables in a timely manner. Field Technician 2 personnel are also responsible for ensuring that they themselves and the contractors they are overseeing are adhering to applicable PG&E Procedures and Standards.
