What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a talented Sr. Paralegal to join the Legal Team, directly supporting the Intellectual Property (IP) Litigation group. This role requires strong technical acumen, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage a high volume of tasks under tight deadlines. The position involves handling all phases of IP litigation, collaborating with internal teams, and reporting directly to the Sr. Paralegal Manager of the IP Litigation group.
What You'll Do
- Play a pivotal role in high-stakes IP litigation that protects Tesla's groundbreaking innovations in electric vehicles, autonomous driving, energy storage, and AI
- Participate as a key contributor to litigation matters, expertly managing all phases-from discovery and motion practice to trial preparation and appeals-while e-filing across multiple jurisdictions and keeping complex calendars on track
- Support high-profile trial efforts, including Markman hearings, jury and bench trials, with opportunities to attend and contribute to courtroom strategy
- Ensure excellence in all court filings through meticulous Bluebook citation, cite-checking, proofreading, and mastery of procedural rules
- Prepare deposition notices, subpoenas, exhibits, and timelines with precision, while proactively juggling multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-volume environment
What You'll Bring
- Demonstrated experience as a key team member with complex litigation matters, ideally within a top-tier law firm or innovative in-house legal team
- Bachelor's degree, paralegal certification, or equivalent experience
- Strong working knowledge of litigation procedures (motion practice, discovery, and trial work), with meaningful exposure to patent litigation, IPRs, PGRs, or ITC proceedings highly desired
- Genuine passion for technology and innovation-eagerness to dive into Tesla's revolutionary products and translate complex technical concepts into compelling legal strategy
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where priorities evolve rapidly and autonomy is expected
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, including the confidence to generate polished briefs, tables of authorities, and executive-level updates
- A proactive, ownership-minded approach with strong initiative, negotiation skills, and the flexibility to take on new challenges as Tesla continues to push the boundaries of innovation

Expected Compensation
$80,000 - $168,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
