Shore United Bank is seeking a full-time Mortgage Banker to join our team. The Mortgage Banker proactively solicits new residential mortgage business and sells Severn Bank mortgage products to meet established loan quality and production goals. In this on-going sales role, the Mortgage Banker continually identifies, develops and maintains a quality network of business relationships that serves as a recurring source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities.

Essential Functions Include:



  • Develops and maintains successful relationships with business referral sources.
  • Prospects new mortgage lending opportunities.
  • Meets with customers as necessary during various stages of the loan process.
  • Provides complete loan applications to loan fulfillment partners, including processors, underwriters, closers, and the Secondary Department.
  • Ensures exceptional customer experience by overseeing loan process from origination to close and providing on-going communication to customers and business partners.
  • Achieves production goals as established.
  • Ensures successful completion of all assigned Mortgage Banker Training activities.
  • Develop Business Referral Network through marketing, cold-calling, prospecting and networking activities.
  • Participate in community efforts to promote home ownership.
  • Meet with prospective borrowers.
  • Review / Analyze credit and financial data.
  • Determine borrower financing objectives and goals.
  • Present appropriate products and programs and explain guidelines.
  • Apprise of pricing and lock rate as required.
  • Identify appropriate opportunities to sell additional products.
  • Collect supporting loan documentation as required and provide complete package to Mortgage Loan Processor.
  • Upload complete application via Loan Origination System (LOS) procedures.
  • Work with Mortgage Loan Processing Manager, Processors, Underwriters, Closers, and the Secondary Department to ensure that loan docs are submitted within Bank established guidelines.
  • Work with Mortgage Loan Processing Manager, Mortgage Loan Processors, Underwriters, Closers, and the Secondary Department to ensure that loan conditions are met.
  • Partner with Mortgage Loan Processors with on-going communication to customer regarding loan status.
  • Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Company's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g., Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.
  • Participates in required training sessions, including training for compliance with BSA/AML policies and procedures.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:



  • Full-time.
  • Days of Work: Monday-Friday.


Required Education and Experience:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years residential mortgage lending experience with a focus on generating self-sourced business.
  • Demonstrated success in prospecting, generating leads, closing business and consistently meeting/exceeding production goals.
  • Verifiable, established network of referral business including Real Estate professionals and other centers of influence.


Compensation:



  • This is a commission-only role.
  • Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
