Your Job

Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products Division is seeking an Outage Leader to develop and lead the project and outage work processes at the Muskogee Paper Mill in Oklahoma. This position supports the full lifecycle of maintenance shutdowns, from planning and coordination to execution and review. In this role, you will collaborate closely with leadership, operations, maintenance and engineering teams to ensure outages are effectively scheduled and carried out, maximizing facility reliability and efficiency.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to identify and implement process improvements that enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), reliability, cost efficiency, and risk reduction.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of scheduled outages, managing the full lifecycle.
  • Support the Outage Team by providing regular progress updates, helping develop the outage coordination plan, and vetting scope submittals using a risk matrix to control scope and costs.
  • Administer the scope collection process, including managing cutoff dates and enforcing a Scope Freeze to allow adequate time for detailed planning and cost estimation.
  • Drive a singular, integrated outage schedule and oversee the implementation of a quality contracted work package process to ensure clear deliverables and smooth execution.
  • Establish planning guidelines and metrics for planners, and execution teams to standardize and optimize turnaround outage execution.
  • Build and maintain a robust Quality of Work program focused on delivering event-free, one-time startups while achieving outage safety and environmental performance goals.
  • Apply strong leadership and management skills to prioritize tasks, facilitate problem-solving, manage change, and escalate issues effectively to keep projects on track.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Outage planning and scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Pulp and Paper experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Paper Sciences.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience with SAP and scheduling applications (P6, MS Projects, etc.)
