What You'll Do Day-To-Day

This full-time role is about making an impact on people's lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As an Industrial Hygienist in Richland, WA, you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Business Unit. Your work will include anticipating, recognizing, evaluating and controlling occupational safety and health hazards and concerns at a commercial nuclear fuel manufacturer. This position requires occasional travel. Together we will enable clean, safe, and economical low-carbon energy to meet the global ambition for a better tomorrow.



What You'll Bring

    Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Engineering, or comparable experience in lieu of degree
  • At least 20 semester credits in a related field
  • At least 5 years of directly related work experience or Industrial Hygiene Certifications in lieu
  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene principles and practices that enables employee to serve as a recognized expert for the company, to develop policy and program objectives, and to provide consultative services to management and technical personnel
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of chemistry, mathematics, physics, and engineering
  • Knowledge of industrial processes, equipment, and materials used in the workplace
  • Knowledge of the principles of industrial hygiene and workplace hazards
  • Knowledge of scientific methods used in health hazard control
  • Knowledge of the relationship between working conditions and health
  • Knowledge of the techniques utilized in conducting industrial hygiene investigations
  • Knowledge of air sampling instruments, ventilation testing equipment and measuring devices for noise, lasers, and other physical agents
  • Knowledge of state and federal statutes and rules concerning industrial hygiene, radiation, and air pollution
  • Ability to organize and interpret field data and identify necessary corrections
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate investigative and narrative reports
  • Ability to use testing and measuring equipment for noise, toxic substances, and harmful physical agents
  • Ability to conduct studies and collect data to detect sources of industrial health hazards
  • Ability to prepare legal notices of violations
  • Ability to prepare cases for prosecution and appear in court as an expert witness
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Ability to maintain records, and prepare reports and correspondence related to the work
  • Ability to maintain favorable public relations
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with PC-based applications such as MS Office
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management.
  • Ability to change priorities quickly, confront issues directly and work well as part of a team
  • Expert Knowledge of industrial hygiene standards, criteria, and guidelines

Total Rewards Package

  • Salary: $92,000-$124,000, and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
