SUMMARY



Primarily responsible for writing new business reports and processing customer credit applications. Provides answers to customer inquiries on new, out-of-date and in-date credit report files. This role has team leadership responsibility within the Information team and provides direct guidance to the Credit Specialist I role.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides training and leadership to team members.

Resolves customer disputes matters escalated by the Credit Specialist I.

Recommends a credit advisement/limit based on information obtained while processing the credit application or new business report.

Exercises judgement related to news or derogatory information including a "stop" or "downgrade" to risk score.

Remains knowledgeable of current events and how they impact our customer's business.

Uses judgement to determine validity and authenticity of any credit request.

Provides professional assistance to both Information and Service clients.

Maintains confidentiality and security of company and client information.

Manages a consistent flow of work to ensure customer satisfaction.

Checks-in with clients daily.

Applies quality assurance standards to all credit reports published.

Assists with daily search for newswire stories as well as writes the stories on an as needed basis.

Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enter and maintain complete and accurate information).



QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE



Bachelor's Degree



Three (3) or more years of related work experience



SKILLS

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Proven skills in time management, multi-tasking and meeting deadlines

Excellent customer service skills, including telephone and listening skills

Ability to pay close attention to detail

Ability to maintain a positive attitude in challenging interactions

Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork
