Job Description

Are you a strategic fundraising leader ready to elevate annual giving at a flagship public institution? Mizzou Advancement is seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Director of Annual Giving and Membership to lead a dynamic team in building lifelong philanthropic relationships with alumni, parents, faculty/staff, patients, and friends.

This role is the cornerstone of a modern, data-informed annual giving program-driving donor acquisition, retention, and pipeline development across 20+ university units, including MU Health Care and MU Children's Hospital. The Executive Director will design and execute multi-channel campaigns that integrate digital, print, social media, and personal outreach to grow membership and maximize philanthropic impact.

Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership: Set the direction for annual giving and membership programs in partnership with Advancement leadership. Establish goals, priorities, and performance benchmarks to grow donor participation and annual revenue.
* Campaign Innovation: Lead the planning and execution of signature initiatives like Giving Tuesday, Mizzou Giving Day, and student philanthropy efforts. Leverage emerging technologies and engagement strategies to enhance donor experience.
* Cross-Campus Collaboration: Partner with unit-based fundraisers and campus stakeholders to identify giving targets and tailor outreach strategies for diverse audiences.
* Data-Driven Optimization: Work with Analytics to develop reporting tools and comparative metrics that inform campaign performance and donor behavior.
* Operational Oversight: Manage budgets, vendors, and compliance with university procurement policies to ensure efficient and effective program delivery.

Shift

M-F 8am-5pm with some occasional events and ability and willingness to travel

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 7 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

* 6-8 years of progressive leadership in annual giving, membership, or direct marketing
* Experience in higher education or healthcare fundraising
* Familiarity with donor engagement technologies and multi-channel solicitation strategies
* Strong project management, collaboration, and customer service skills
* Passion for philanthropy and a team-oriented mindset

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000 per year

Grade: GGS-014
