Key Position Details:
Team of 6 ED physicians Strong support (full time hospitalist coverage, 4 general surgeons, 3 ortho, 3 OB, 2 podiatrists, 3 pediatricians, psychiatry, CRNAs etc.) 24/7 Access to system Service Lines (Mental Health, Cardiology, Neurology, Pediatrics, etc.) 9.5K visits annually 11 bed ED Experienced team of nurses Employed network of EMS Level IV Trauma Center, Stroke Ready Easy transfers to affiliated tertiary care hospital network 1.5 hours from Twin Cities metro

Job Description:
- Reviews patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
- Evaluates, interprets, and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.
- Focuses on the immediate decision-making and action necessary to prevent death or any further disability both in the prehospital setting by directing emergency medical technicians and in the emergency department.
- Provides immediate recognition, evaluation, care, stabilization and disposition of a generally diversified population of adult and pediatric patients in response to acute illness and injury.
- Provides education, consultation or intervention to patients (treatment plan) and their families.
- Works collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.
- Practices in a thoughtful manner including consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy and legal responsibilities.
- Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management.
- May provide care in an ambulatory clinic, inpatient or outpatient hospital setting.
- Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes, or work flows.
Required Qualifications
- Doctoral/Ph.D. level advanced degree in Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine
- Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited residency training program in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics, Pediatric Emergency Medicine or foreign equivalent training
- 0 to 2 years of demonstrated experience in designated specialty area
Licenses/Certifications
- Licensed Physician - MN Board of Medical Practice required if working in the state of Minnesota upon hire
- ACLS-BLS Tier 3 - Multisource required within 180 Days
- PALS - Pediatric Advance Life Support - Multisource required depending on business unit upon hire
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation - Multisource required depending on business unit upon hire
- Comprehensive Advance Life Support - Multisource required or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) depending on business unit upon hire
- Licensed Physician - WI if working in the state of Wisconsin upon hire required
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, or in Emergency Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board, or current certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or General Surgery upon hire required
- Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate upon hire required
- Prescription Monitoring Programupon hire required
- National Provider Identifier upon hire required
