As the New Day community Education Specialist, you'll be responsible for creating, implementing, and facilitating community education to prevent sex trafficking and sexual violence.

What You'll Do:

Groups: facilitate educational workshops in school classrooms, student assemblies, and Juvenile Detention Centers focusing on consent and boundaries, dynamics of relationship violence and sex trafficking, and community care and accountability.
Curriculum: Develop and build curriculum (including evaluating and improving) and enhance best practice, deliver content effectively
* Collaborate: Work closely with the New Day Manager and Directors, community partners, and youth to inform toolkits and policy recommendations

* Data Compliance: Maintain required documentation, including case notes, case files and expenditures.

* This position is based at the Youth CNCT building at 41 SE 102nd Avenue and launches in the community to provide training returning to Youth CNCT or other New Avenues locations between meetings and at the end of the day

Qualifications:

* 3 years of experience in education, social work, youth advocacy and/or community organizing relevant to sex trafficking, the commercial sex trades, and intersections with vulnerable and at-risk youth

Individuals with lived experience are specifically encouraged to apply!

* Prior experience creating presentations, curricula, or facilitating groups

* Proficiency in basic communication and technical skills, including composing professional emails, operating a phone system, client management software, and standard computer applications.

* Possess a valid Driver's License and a personal vehicle

This may or may not also include different agency locations or locations within the community being served. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be routinely exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. If the position may require the use of any personal protective equipment, New Avenues will have such equipment on hand for the employee's use.
