Summary:
Responsible for accurately assigning diagnostic and procedural codes to medical records, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulatory requirements. Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions: Review medical records and extract relevant clinical information to assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes using coding systems such as ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS. -Ensure accurate and detailed coding of medical data, adhering to established coding guidelines and industry standards. -Follow coding and documentation guidelines set by regulatory bodies, including CMS, CPT, and other relevant coding authorities, to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. -Maintain the integrity and security of patient information and healthcare data throughout the coding process. -Collaborate with clinical documentation specialists and healthcare providers to address documentation queries and obtain additional information for accurate coding.
