We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Technician to support both our Quality and Supply Chain functions for Elbert, CO facility. This role plays a key part in ensuring product quality, supplier compliance, and smooth material flow throughout the operation. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and enjoys both hands-on inspection work and analytical process support.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and quality checks on products at various stages of production.
- Conduct tests using a variety of equipment and tools to measure product specifications.
- Document and analyze inspection results, identifying any issues or defects.
- Collaborate with production teams to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain and calibrate quality control equipment to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare detailed reports on quality trends and performance.
- Support audits (internal and external) by providing records, samples, and documentation.
- Review and update quality control procedures, inspection instructions, and documentation as needed.
- Perform shipping and receiving functions, including preparing shipments, verifying deliveries, and processing related documentation.
- Accurately receive incoming materials, inspect for accuracy and condition, and properly label items for storage or distribution.
- Maintain inventory levels by performing regular counts, monitoring stock, and reconciling discrepancies.
- Ensure all materials are labeled in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Input and maintain accurate data in Costpoint related to material receipts, inventory transactions, and shipments.
- Organize and maintain the warehouse/storage area to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
- Assist with audits, cycle counts, and inventory reporting as needed.
- Follow established safety and quality procedures in all material handling activities.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- Preferred 2 to 3 years in Manufacturing and/or Aerospace environment.
- Proven experience in a quality control or quality assurance role.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
- Previous auditing experience and certifications for internal auditing is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with basic measurement tools and equipment.
- 1-3 years of experience in shipping/receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate material handling equipment (forklift certification a plus).
- Knowledge of shipping practices, inventory management, and labeling standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- May be required to obtain a Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance depending on contract needs.
