Responsible for driving excellence across our manufacturing processes and ensuring the highest standards of product quality. This integrated role encompasses the full lifecycle of operational efficiency and quality assurance, from process development and optimization to defect prevention, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement. The Operations Engineer leverages a data-driven approach to optimize production flows, enhance product reliability, and foster a culture of quality-at-the-source.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Process Development & Optimization:

  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing products to achieve desired quality, cost, and efficiencies (e.g., cycle time, waste elimination).
  • Develop and maintain robust process documentation (SOPs, control plans, work instructions).
  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation, process improvement, and technological advancements.
  • Conduct time studies with a view of improving utilization and overall operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Design teams on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Quality (DFQ) initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor in-process quality control measures and final product inspection plans.
  • Conduct thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for manufacturing deviations, defects, and customer complaints, implementing effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Perform statistical process control (SPC) analysis and implement control charts to monitor process stability and capability.
  • Lead/participate in FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and control plan development.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality management systems (e.g., ISO, IATF) and relevant industry standards.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives (e.g., Kaizen events, 5S, Value Stream Mapping) to eliminate waste and improve operational performance.
  • Utilize data analytics to identify trends, predict potential issues, and propose proactive solutions.
  • Implement and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions and process changes.
  • Work cross-functionally with Production, R&D, Supply Chain, and other departments to ensure seamless operational flow and resolve complex issues.
  • Support the selection, installation, qualification, and optimization of manufacturing equipment and tooling.
    • Validate measurement systems (MSA) and ensure the accuracy of inspection equipment and methods.
    • Mentor and support colleagues in developing a holistic understanding of process and quality interactions.
    • Actively participate in integrated Operations Engineering team meetings (e.g., daily stand-ups) to share insights, discuss challenges, and align on objectives.
    • Additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
