PURPOSE:
The Global Trade Operations and Compliance (GTOC) Logistics Analyst is the primary liaison between carriers, forwarders, shipping facilities, and customer service. The candidate will be responsible for working with freight forwarder and carriers to secure bookings based on routing guide, analyze/approve demurrage billings, carrier KPI and various other ad hoc reporting. The ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced environment, be able to multi-task, solve routine to complex issues and effectively communicate to key stakeholders.
KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Request bookings based upon sales order parameters, defined ETA, material lead-times
- Coordinate multiple facets of scheduling shipments based on booking requirements and plant abilities
- Obtain, publish, and analyze rates for sales or other internal customers
- Coordinate with other professionals to identify, develop and implement reports, changes, or new systems
- Analyze problematic areas of data and recommend improvement opportunities to reduce costs or boost carrier performance
- Plan, develop, and implement metrics including On-Time Delivery, Utilization, Tracking Reports
- Collaborate and help foster trusting relationships with other departments and divisions to implement effective systems and solutions
- Drive carrier performance by refining and maintaining carrier scorecards tracking Key Performance Indicator's
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:
- 3+ years of professional work experience
- Proven experience as an Analyst in Supply Chain, Operations, or Logistics
- Experience freight forwarding, customs
- Familiarity with supply chain processes (e.g., Inventory planning, warehouse management)
- Incoterms Knowledge
- Global Trade Knowledge
- International Logistics / Supply Chain
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:
- SAP/SAP TM experience
- ACE Secure Data Portal experience
- Experience with CargoWise or various International Logistics Tracking Software
COMPETENCIES:
- Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills - formulas, databases, lookups, pivot tables, etc.
- Proven track record of being a self-starter, innovative and results driven
