Overview of the Position: The Receiving Inspector performs initial receiving inspections on a variety of aerospace parts and components using established inspection plans, counting scales, hand-held inspection tools, Aerospace Standards and/or manufacturer drawings. Education/Experienc Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of experience with aerospace parts distribution and/or inspection. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to suppliers, and co-workers. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Review supplier certification for compliance to purchase order requirements. * Verify count of product received. * Inspect basic dimensions of key product characteristics * Assist on scanning and indexing supplier's documentation * Enters data into main computer system * Assigns Document Control Numbers (DCN) and Licenses to received material. * Inspects a variety of small, manufactured aerospace components. * Acts as the interface with Purchasing and Quality departments. * Assists on the Quality Deficiency process. * Assists with vendor and customer return process. * Interfaces with accounting on debit memo process. * Interfaces directly with Repair Management Coordinator on rotable items * Ensures pictures are taken of all rotable units received. * Resolves problem within the department. * Keep workstation and receiving area clean. Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Good communication and problem solving skills for working in a team oriented environment. * Basic computer and data entry skills. | |
