Salary range:
The salary range for this position is $154,700-$405,900. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan found here: https://aadocs.ucdavis.edu/policies/apm/apm-670.pdf. Application Window Open date: November 19, 2025 Next review date: Wednesday, Dec 10, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Tuesday, Jun 30, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine is recruiting one full-time research faculty member at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level in the In-Residence track with the potential for tenure. Faculty in this role will be expected to develop and maintain an active, externally funded research portfolio; engage in teaching, mentorship, and scholarly training of medical students, residents, fellows, and junior faculty; participate in departmental service, administrative responsibilities, and professional activities appropriate to academic rank; and contribute to the advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion through research, teaching, and/or community engagement. The UC Davis Department of Emergency Medicine provides comprehensive emergency services to a large local urban and referral population as a Level One Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and EMS base station. The Emergency Department has a strong research infrastructure and consistently ranks near the top nationally in NIH funding. Primarily, the candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an active research portfolio that is externally funded. Secondarily, the candidate will be expected to participate in departmental education, administrative, and mentorship activities commensurate to academic rank. Departmental research resources include administrative, grant writing, analytical, lab space, regulatory, and seed and bridge funding support. Areas of complementary strengths in the Department include opioid research, work on social determinants of health, and implementation science.
