Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Career Development Assistant/Advisor for the School of Arts and Sciences. The Career Development Assistant/Advisor will support the
ODASIS program by providing career advising and developing career-related materials for students interested in life science and healthcare pathways.
This role includes coordinating logistics and programming for a new
ODASIS Career Day event and collaborating with Supplemental Instruction (SI) leaders to embed career insights into academic support sessions.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Develops career materials, handouts, online resources, and workshop presentations.
- Maintains career-related resources and share opportunities (internships, shadowing, research, networking events) with students.
- Plans, coordinates a new Career Day event, including outreach to guest speakers, scheduling sessions, and managing event logistics.
- Provides individual and small-group career advising focused on pathways in life sciences and healthcare.
- Coordinates with student staff to integrate career insights into existing programs, ensuring students connect academic learning with professional pathways.
- Collaborates with ODASIS staff and external partners to support student career development.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, life sciences, healthcare, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- At least one year of experience in academic advising, career services, event coordination, or student support.

- Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle or other dependable means of transportation.

- Strong communication, presentation, organizational, advising and interpersonal skills.

- Strong Microsoft Office knowledge.
