| Position Purpose |
In support of Dartmouth's Alumni Relations mission, the Program Manager supports Dartmouth's efforts to build and sustain meaningful connections between the College and its alumni around the world. This position plays a crucial role in the planning and execution of engagement efforts for regional, interest, and class-based alumni groups, including the planning and execution of the reunions as part of a designated portfolio. This role involves direct interaction with alumni volunteers, internal stakeholders, campus partners, and Advancement colleagues on alumni engagement efforts. |

* Minimum two years of advancement experience in a complex college or university development operation or the equivalent
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills including leading meetings and trainings
* Demonstrated initiative, and ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively
* Ability to prioritize a myriad of assignments such that deadlines and outcomes are ultimately met without constant supervision
* Personable, service-driven guest service skills: demonstrating polite, friendly, professional, and helpful telephone and Zoom etiquette; energetically engaging constituents at events
* Strong planning and organizational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to articulate the purposes and programs of Dartmouth to individuals and groups.
* Collaborator who works well as part of multiple teams
* Experience with Microsoft Suite products and
CRM tools preferred
* Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment
* Willingness to occasionally work evenings/weekends and travel as needed
Note: Employment will be contingent upon possession of a valid U.S. or Canadian driver's license and continued qualification as an Approved Driver under the Dartmouth College Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Policy.

Organization Engagement
* Manages a small, defined portfolio of alumni classes, including planning and delivering class reunions. and serves as the primary liaison between reunion class volunteers and Alumni Relations. Provides general guidance and support for long-term success. Participates in the execution of regional engagement strategies across domestic and international regions, ensuring cross-departmental coordination to achieve maximum impact and success. Identifies opportunities to expand alumni and volunteer engagement, leveraging data to inform decisions and efficiencies.
* Identifies and resolves straightforward issues using established procedures and guidelines from more experienced colleagues. Performs work under close guidance to reach set outcomes. Builds experience and cultivates relationships collaboratively and independently. Partners closely with the Alumni Experience and Operations teams to align shared goals and outcomes, through regular communication and joint efforts to deliver programs and strategies.
*Tracks progress and measures the impact of engagement initiatives, driving continuous improvement and accountability.
* Collaborates with volunteers to maintain and enhance Dartmouth's reputation and presence in key markets, support and yield strong applicants, and supports the creation of sustainable volunteer structures in alumni organizations.

Volunteer and Stakeholder Engagement
* Under general guidance and supervision, helps recruit, on-board, and train alumni volunteers. works with campus partners for regional and volunteer-related efforts. Develops relationships with alumni leaders and campus partners deliver events and programs.

* Participates in the creation of final briefing materials, ensuring accuracy, messaging alignment, and timely sign-off for major alumni events and programs. |

Relationship Management
* Coordinates with the broader Advancement team to ensure consistent alumni communications, event and reunion planning and execution, and volunteer engagement.
* Works with colleagues in Advancement and campus partners to implement engagement opportunities to meet the changing needs and expectations of alumni.
* Collaborates with colleagues to develop recommendations to increase alumni engagement. Manages engagement strategies for targeted alumni segments. Assists with the implementation of new initiatives or improves existing ones that offer alumni access to resources at Dartmouth in ways that enrich their intellectual, professional, and personal lives.
* Provides creative and tactical thinking to planning efforts to enhance Dartmouth's reputation and showcase the intellectual strengths of the College and helps to advance its reputation and prestige in the marketplace.
* Fosters strong relationships with alumni by engaging them in the life of the institution and with one another. Provides updates on the institution's mission and vision through informal networking. Participates in creating a strong and enduring culture of volunteerism at Dartmouth and takes full advantage of Dartmouth's extraordinary community of graduates and all that they have to offer. |
