Title: Phlebotomist - Biomonitoring Unit $22.08 - $28.42 / Posted Thru: 12/1/2025 Location: Hybrid - Must Live and Work in the state of Michigan Purpose: Working remotely and/or in the community in themobile lab RV, at "pop up" mobile lab and/or in-home setting. This position travels throughout the State of Michigan (50%), remote or in Lansing in a standard office environment (50%). Duties and Responsibilities: Phlebotomy duties (approximately 50% of the time)
Non-community work responsibilities (approximately 50% of the time)
Qualifications/Requirements: Education: Education typically acquired through the completion of high school. Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program that includes an externship in a hospital or busy clinical laboratory setting. Experience: No experience required. One year in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting is preferred. Important Skills and Characteristics:
Work Environment and Physical Requirements: This position includes weekly overnight travel within the state and involves working evenings and weekends. Physical requirements consistent with a standard clinic or lab environment. Regular evening and weekend hours will be required. Transport supplies to sites around the state. Items and supplies can be bulky and weigh up to 40lbs. May go door-to-door to engage residents and may be exposed to cold, heat or wet weather conditions. Requires valid vehicle operator's license and frequent travel within the State, including overnights and some weekends. Less frequently, travel may be required outside of the State. RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WORK OF OTHERS: No assigned responsibility. IMPACT ON PROJECTS, SERVICES AND OPERATIONS: This position has a direct impact on the quality of services provided by MPHI to MDHHS.This position serves to support work within the Bureau of Environmental Health. The phlebotomist will work in cooperation with the program team(s) to ensure goals are achieved by assisting with participants and mobile lab operations. The person in this position interacts with the public on a regular basis at the mobile lab and internal staff via meetings, telephone conversations, and e-mails, responding to community health concerns and providing information to protect public health.
