The Job Responsibilities
This Software Project Manager II will be responsible for managing software projects throughout the product development life cycle in accordance with internal processes and external standards.
This is an onsite position at our Andover, MA location with a hybrid work schedule.
- "Face of the software project team". Contribute to the overall project planning. Responsible for software project planning, execution, and closure to achieve project objectives (scope, schedule, cost, quality).
- Establish goals and objectives with the software project team, track progress against objectives, and implement corrective actions as required.
- Lead, motivator, and guide for the software project team. Collaborate with other cross-functional team members and managers to achieve key results.
- Ensure that the software project team understands and supports the project scope and milestones. Engage the software project team to keep the project on track. Facilitate timely decisions and create escalations to the cross-functional project team / management as needed.
- Apply project management best practices while ensuring compliance to internal processes and external standards. Create and manage software DHF deliverables and other required documentation
- Transparent communication of software project status, achievements, risks, impediments, dependencies, mitigation strategies, schedule, etc. to the cross-functional project team and other key stakeholders. Ensure and demonstrate predictability of the software development activities.
- Lead and coordinate activities with external partners, suppliers, and other Draeger entities to ensure that work is delivered as needed for assigned software projects.
- Align with global peers of other Draeger entities on best practices.
- Performs other duties as needed and assigned.
Your Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree a plus
- Background in Engineering or Computer Science preferred
Related Experience:
- 5+ years relevant experience with medical device development and/or in a regulated, process-oriented development environment
- 1-3 years relevant experience in software project management, project management, or program management of one or more complex projects with multiple stakeholders and global teams
- Previous experience in agile software development highly preferred
- Knowledge of various standards for medical devices (e.g. IEC 62304, ISO 14971, ISO 13485, ...) preferred
- Contractor and supplier management a plus
- Experience in the field of patient monitoring a plus

- Solid understanding of project management fundamentals
- Broad technical knowledge (software, electronics, mechanics)
- Leadership qualities
- Skilled in managing and collaborating with cross-functional teams
