X-Ray Technician - CT technician

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist and perform CT inspections on a variety of components, ensuring adherence to industry standards and specifications, especially those related to High Energy Linac systems.

2. Prepare samples and parts for CT scanning following established written practice.

3. Process and reconstruct 3D volumes from 2D projection sets using Varex's Conebeam Software Toolkit

4. Use Volume Graphics Studio Max to Interpret and analyze CT scan data to identify and evaluate defects, anomalies, or irregularities in materials.

5. Document findings and support the generation of detailed inspection reports.

6. Collaborate with engineers and technicians to interpret results and suggest improvements Generate comprehensive inspection reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

7. Maintain equipment and adhere to safety standards related to X-ray radiation.

8. Work within and following ISO-9001-2015, NAS 410, ASNT-SNT-TC-1A written practices.

Qualifications:

1. US Citizenship with the ability to work on ITAR and export controlled components

2. Be onsite at the Varex, Franklin Park Illinois Facility.

3. Experience and understanding of radiography, CT, and x-ray

4. User of Volume Graphics Studio Max.

5. Experience with Linacs is highly desirable.

6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

7. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.

8. Ability to work independently

Education and Experience:

* High school diploma, with emphasis on science and math.

* Desired 1 year of relevant experience in CT inspections, with a preference towards High Energy Linac technology.

* Ability to obtain Varex internal Level II status within 1 year of start date.

* Minimum experience: 4 years as a certified NDT L2 inspector

Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.

-Perform very heavy work that will require occasionally require the employee to lift/move items and equipment up to the OSHA limits (50 lbs), safely and effectively.

- Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving heavy equipment and/or supplies occasionally.

- Reaching above the shoulder occasionally.

-Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and handle physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, stretching, reaching, repetitive motion, or similar activities.

-Work environments includes: exposure to chemicals, electrical current, high voltage electricity, proximity to moving mechanical parts, repetitive hand motion, and use of high radiation equipment.
