Position Description

Manages and directs the day to day operations of a research center/institute or medium sized department. Plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of the center/institute/department. Develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities.

The Senior Director of Graduate Enrollment Marketing plays a key leadership role in developing and executing strategic, data-informed marketing initiatives that attract, engage, and enroll graduate students across master's, doctoral and certified programs. Candidate will have expertise in integrated marketing, brand strategy and audience engagement that will guide cross-channel campaigns that elevate the visibility of Texas Tech's graduate programs and support the university's broader academic and research goals.

In Marketing & Communications, we deliver high-quality communications that tell the story of Texas Tech in the most compelling way possible. We build emotional connections to Texas Tech to promote and protect the mission, vision and values of the University.

Major/Essential Functions


  • In coordination with the Graduate School, lead the planning and execution of marketing campaigns that reach prospective graduate students - both domestic and international - and their influencers, ensuring consistency across digital, print and experiential channels.
  • Collaborate with the Graduate School, colleges, and university research offices to develop marketing strategies that highlight academic excellence, faculty expertise and research impact.
  • Conduct market research and apply data-driven insights to identify target audiences, refine messaging, and optimize marketing performance.
  • Oversee the creation of content that showcases the graduate student experience, from academic rigor and mentorship to professional advancement and discovery.
  • Mentor and lead a team of marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture focused on continuous improvement and measurable outcomes.
  • Track and report campaign analytics to evaluate performance, inform strategic decisions and ensure alignment with graduate enrollment and university-wide goals.
  • Partner closely with Graduate Admissions and college communicators to ensure a cohesive and seamless recruitment journey for prospective students.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in appropriate area of responsibility; Six years progressively responsible management experience. Additional education beyond Bachelor's may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Master's degree in marketing, business administration, higher education administration or related field.
  • Five years of progressive experience in marketing, with at least three years in a leadership role focused on graduate or enrollment marketing.
  • Strong understanding of graduate recruitment trends, digital marketing strategies and enrollment management principles.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team of marketing professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across academic and administrative units.
  • Proficiency in marketing analytics and campaign performance measurement tools.
  • Innovative mindset with adaptability to emerging trends in graduate education and marketing.
  • Proven record of successful, data-driven campaigns that supports enrollment growth.

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
