The Opportunity:

The Information Technology department within Facilities and Business Operations is seeking to hire an IT Analyst II of Enterprise IT Governance, Policy, and Standards. This position serves as a core operational role within the Office of the CIO, supporting the development, maintenance, and communication of UCF's enterprise IT governance framework, policies, and standards. The IT Analyst II is responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities related to the policy life-cycle, including research, drafting, documentation, workflow routing, and repository management.

Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse IT and business units.

Responsibilities:

Policy and Standards Lifecycle Management:



  • Conduct research on IT industry frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ITIL, NIST) and peer institution practices to inform the development and revision of UCF's IT policies and standards.

  • Draft, edit, and maintain official documentation for IT policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with regulatory requirements (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA).

  • Coordinate the formal review and approval process for policy documents, engaging stakeholders such as Legal Counsel, Internal Audit, the Information Security Office, and IT governance committees.

  • Manage the central repository for IT governance documentation (e.g., SharePoint or dedicated portals), ensuring version control, accurate metadata, and accessibility.




Governance and Committee Support:



  • Assist in preparing agendas, pre-read materials, and documentation for IT governance committee meetings, ensuring decisions and action items are accurately recorded and tracked.

  • Serve as a liaison between the Governance team and departmental IT leaders to gather feedback and clarify implementation details.

  • Translate high-level IT policies and standards into detailed operational procedures and guidelines for use by UCF IT staff.




Compliance and Communication:



  • Support the development and execution of communication plans and educational materials to promote awareness and understanding of IT policies and standards across campus.

  • Monitor policy adherence and assist with the formal exception process, including documentation, stakeholder review, and outcome tracking.

  • Conduct regular audits of the policy repository to ensure documents are current, official, and properly archived.




Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:



  • 4+ years of experience in policy development, governance operations, or compliance coordination.

  • Strong writing and editing skills for technical documentation, policy drafting, and procedural guidelines.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional review processes involving legal, audit, and security stakeholders.

  • Experience supporting committee operations, including agenda preparation, meeting documentation, and follow-up tracking.

  • Ability to translate high-level policy into actionable procedures for technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Degree in Public Administration, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with experience conducting audits or quality checks on documentation systems.

  • Familiarity with IT governance frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, and NIST is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements including FERPA, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS.

  • Experience managing document repositories (e.g., SharePoint) with version control and metadata standards.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.




Special Instructions to the Applicants:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $56,030 to $74,000. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

Position requires a valid class E driver's license. The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
