The Spirit of the Position:

LAZ's continued growth has created a new opportunity in the Accounting department for a talented Senior Accountant,
Financial Reporting to join our professional team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the monthly and annual financial reporting process, which includes preparing various internal and external reports, financial statements, and disclosures; maintaining financial reporting controls; involvement in subsidiary consolidations; and ad hoc projects.

Work Location:


  • Home Office (Hartford, CT) - Hybrid schedule

Principal Job Duties:



  • Monthly preparation of various internal reports.
  • Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements under US GAAP (including disclosures).
  • Support the annual financial statement audit.
  • Assist with quarterly deliverables for debt compliance and Board materials.
  • Establish, improve, and maintain controls around financial reporting and other key processes.
  • Participation in monthly consolidation of both domestic and foreign subsidiaries.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedure documentation for all applicable workflows.
  • Focus on process improvement with a goal of automating/streamlining activities.
  • Perform all other related duties and/or projects assigned to meet the needs of the company.


Requirements:

Education:



  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification is a plus.


Experience:



  • Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience, with application of GAAP.
  • Consolidation and foreign currency experience a plus.


Skills:



  • Experience and proven ability in demonstrating analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, be a self-starter, and effectively interface at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced knowledge of MS Excel (formulas and functions).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict monthly deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent computer skills, including high and proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Adobe, and Outlook).

Physical Demands:



  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least 10lbs.
