The purpose for the Sr. Manager position is to support the business goals and objectives of Alcon Clinical R&D through efficient, effective and comprehensive organizational processes, project management solutions, and/or process improvement initiatives. This particular Clinical Project Management position functions to standardize processes and balance the workload for Alcon research clinics. The Project Manager further facilitates the maintenance and support of a strategic Clinical R&D supplier plan.

The Sr. Manager liaises with Alcon Clinical Project Leads, Alcon Clinical Operations personnel and contracted clinic staff. This position will be located in either Johns Creek, GA or Fort Worth, TX.

In this role, a typical day will include:

Alcon Research Clinic Scheduling and Workload Balancing:

  • Assess and allocate studies effectively to manage workload across clinics.

  • Negotiate clinic schedule with internal stakeholders and contracted clinic management.

  • Ensure balanced distribution of studies.

  • Identify and resolve any resource conflicts or bottlenecks with agility.

Process Standardization:

  • Continuously review and improve Alcon research clinic processes for efficiency and effectiveness; and own related quality documentation.

  • Develop and implement standardized processes and/or documentation to facilitate agility with quality.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Team Coordination:

  • Collaborate with Alcon Clinical stakeholders and contract staff to align goals and objectives.

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between Alcon Clinical stakeholders and contracted clinic staff.

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to clinic teams.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Develop KPIs and keep metrics for Alcon Research Clinic activities.

  • Lead budget and resource coordination for Alcon Research Clinics.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on project status, progress, and performance.

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation.

  • Ensure proper documentation and tracking of clinical research activities.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations.

  • Manage relationships with sponsors, vendors, and other external partners.

  • Address and resolve any issues or concerns raised by stakeholders.

Vendor Management:

  • Work with Alcon Clinical franchises and Alcon Clinical Operations to create and maintain as strategic supplier plan.

  • Facilitate new vendor qualifications and onboarding in conjunction with cross functional stakeholders.

Facilities Management:

  • Manage Alcon Research Clinic equipment purchase, install and maintenance.

  • Project management changes and updates to the facility/building (e.g., expansions, painting, signage).

  • Work with Alcon Facilities and the vendor to ensure appropriate building supplies and services (e.g., pest control) are provided and maintained.

Experience:

  • Comprehensive understanding of clinical research processes and regulatory requirements

  • Ophthalmic/Optometric experience

  • Excellent organizational, leadership, communication and negotiation skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

  • Proficiency in project management software and tools

  • LSS Green Belt

What You'll Bring to Alcon:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)

  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

  • 7 Years of Relevant Experience
