SUMMARY

As a Tax Compliance Expeditor, you will provide comprehensive project and administrative support to a growing and evolving Tax Department. The Tax Compliance Expeditor will participate in, support, and manage the overall compliance engagement administration and various phases of the tax return process primarily retrieving client data, coordinating outsourcing/preparation of tax returns as well as monitoring the completion and delivery of returns.

We are open to individuals who would like to work full-time or part-time in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor, resource, and track returns for tax clients including receiving, organizing and retrieving client data, tracking of workflow through entire cycle, and communicating progress to team members
  • Manage the administrative process of a tax return including tracking that necessary documents are received and moved timely through the process
  • Collaborate with engagement managers/team members to meet client expectations
  • Monitor administration of controls in the return/engagement process to ensure all relevant controls are performed for each engagement throughout project lifecycle
  • Create and maintain project coordination procedures to support the success of the full return/engagement lifecycle from initiation to close
  • Help monitor compliance workload balancing and coordinate with other tax compliance expeditors
  • Update workflow software and keep projects moving in system as needed; update CRM system; assist clients with software navigation and answer questions
  • Reviews budget to actual analysis
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned to support the needs of the organization and the department's commitment to operational excellence
  • Prepare client scope of work agreements (MSAs and other documents, as needed) for distribution to clients and track status

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelors' degree in Business or related field OR High School Diploma/GED and four years of relevant experience required
  • Minimum of three years of experience in project coordination and progressively responsible experience providing administrative support to multiple constituents is required

Preferred:

  • Previous professional services firm experience is strongly preferred

Other:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel
  • Strong writing, proofreading, editing and language skills
  • Extreme attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to define priorities and to handle multiple tasks and projects, with minimal direction
  • Ability to work under pressure; maintain problem-solving attitude
  • Adaptable; able to change focus quickly
  • Strong interpersonal skills in working with internal staff, shareholders and clients
  • Strong telephone oral communication skills
  • Discreet, with ability to keep information confidential
  • Knowledge of office support practices and techniques
