At the Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL), we are seeking an Information Systems Administrator Assistant. This role assists in maintaining and troubleshooting both virtual and physical computer system environments and provides technical support for Systems Administrators and other team members. The ideal candidate is reliable, task driven, and passionate about technology, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. This position is 15-20 hours per week, onsite, non-remote, with possible after-hours work needed. Located at our North Logan location.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in maintaining computer systems and software applications both virtually and physically
  • Follows and creates documentation for technical issues and resolutions
  • Collaborates with IT team members to implement system patches/upgrades and improvements
  • Provides support to Systems Administrators
  • Ensures compliance with security protocols and organizational policies
Required Qualifications:
  • Student pursuing a degree in computer science, business, or related degree
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of school remaining
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Must be reliable with the ability to accomplish tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work 15-20 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
  • Ability to work after hours, as required
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Security Clearance
  • Active CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification that meets or exceeds DoD 8570 IAT Level II (or the ability to obtain within a maximum of 30 days after hire)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with workstation and server hardware and software
  • Security + Certification
  • Experience helping customers and solving complex IT-related problems
  • Experience working in a virtual systems environment
  • Active security clearance
