Job Description

Experienced Civil Engineer (PE): In charge of field inspection and capable of handling, tracking, and filing all project documentation. Work to be done consists of remove and replacement of sewer lines (point repairs), CIPP lining, maintenance holes, sewer bypass, and minor concrete work.
Prepare detailed scope of work for construction projects and provide oversight of contractors. Prepare daily inspection reports documenting vendor performance, work done, deficiencies, and job progress.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Document construction activities, equipment, supplies, materials delivered, used, and hauled away.
  • Review material submittals for compliance with construction contract documents.
  • Document work completed with Final Construction Reports, including photos and videos, and the date of the final job walk.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in technical disciplines such as Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent technical area of study.
  • 12+ years of experience in management of construction, engineering, or equivalent technical projects preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with industry and technical standards and means & methods for public works construction.
  • Have strong administrative ability; able to correspond with the Contractor; take ownership and work in a team environment.
  • Oversees all activities of construction management of construction projects to close-out.
  • May assume the lead in project meetings, and tracking of relevant information and statuses, and follow-up on actions items of all participants.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple contractors and fast-paced projects simultaneously.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with document control systems such as Procore and Bluebeam.
  • Be familiar with the County of San Diego Construction Manuals is preferred.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA), or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The Salary range for this position is $135,000-$140,000.
