About Our Team

The Product Delivery Value Streams Group (7560) is responsible for providing Neutron Generators (NGs) for the Nuclear Security Enterprise and for providing materials and parts for more than fifteen production missions at Sandia. The NG Production Value Stream departments serve in the Production Agency role and are accountable for the quality of the product from planning through acceptance and customer shipment. Group 7560 supports manufacturing operations at five levels of assembly (Purchased Products, Active Ceramics, Neutron Tubes, NG Sub-Assemblies, and Assemblies) and manages key partner interfaces. The Group builds all production and development hardware within three NG product families and nine NG products to support current and future program demands. In addition to overseeing continuous production, other responsibilities include developing and maintaining qualified product definition, partnering with the Design Agency in qualifying new products, and supporting fielded NG products.

Our Group is also responsible for supporting all the Sandia Nuclear Deterrence (ND) production missions through our Purchased Product Value Streams (PPVS). The three PPVS departments ensure drawings are correct (engaging with the DA and PA) and suppliers are qualified so that they can procure, inspect, store, and deliver parts and material to the production floors in the most effective and efficient manner. Maintaining a capable and healthy supply chain is paramount in meeting Sandia's production needs and we do this through our supplier onboarding program, supplier assessment program, managing our supplier health metrics, and establishing productive partnerships.

We provide technical leadership in various engineering disciplines and pursue state-of-the-art solutions in product and process engineering. We strive to maintain an agile production environment, where we sustain and ensure the highest quality and reliability possible while staying in compliance with all Environmental, Safety, Security and Health mandates. We operate in an environment where low volume, medium product mix is the norm, and where high yields and minimal variation are necessary for mission success. Customer needs are met through integrated planning, lean manufacturing, testing, and certification of neutron generators and their constituent components.

Posting Duration

This posting will be open for application submissions for a minimum of seven (7) calendar days, including the `posting date. Sandia reserves the right to extend the posting date at any time.

Security Clearance

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

Applicants offered employment with Sandia are subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment.
