Essential Job Duties
The Department of Information Technology, Analytics, and Operations in the Poole College of Management at North Carolina State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level. We seek scholars in the areas of Information Technology, Information Systems, and Business Analytics committed to excellence in research, teaching, and service.
Position Responsibilities


  • Teaching: Deliver high-quality instruction in IT and analytics at both the undergraduate and graduate (including MBA) levels, in online and in-person formats. Courses may include topics such as data engineering, database management, artificial intelligence, networking, cybersecurity and related areas.

  • Research: Develop and maintain a productive research program that leads to publications in top-tier peer-reviewed journals.

  • Service: Contribute to the academic mission of the department, college, and university through committee work, curriculum development, and professional engagement.

Qualifications






Minimum Education and Experience
  • Ph.D. in Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a closely related discipline by July 1, 2026.
Other Required Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate research and teaching capabilities consistent with a Research 1 university, showing strong potential at the assistant professor level or an established record at the associate professor level, with the ability to teach effectively at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in research or projects.
  • Familiarity with interdisciplinary research collaborations or industry partnerships.
  • Demonstrated expertise in emerging areas such as machine learning, AI, big data analytics, or cloud computing.
