| Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
The Associate Director - Auxiliary Aids and Services is responsible for oversight of accommodated and make up testing on campus, supervising the testing coordinator role. The Associate Director will work with the Director and Coordinator to set policies for testing and is responsible for scheduling and staffing of the testing spaces.
The Associate Director coordinates all requests for dining accommodations, partnering with Campus Dining to meet the needs of students with disabilities in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act as amended. This position will develop, in conjunction with relevant campus partners, the emergency evacuation procedures for individuals with disabilities. The Associate Director will provide oversight for parking accommodations, supervise the Seahawk Rides program, and represent the
DRC on the Parking, Traffic, and Transportation Advisory Committee.
The Associate Director is also responsible for the development and maintenance of attendance accommodation agreements for students with an approved accommodation for attendance. This position liaises with faculty to arrange for the provision of these accommodations, as well as providing training on the implementation of such accommodations. Additionally, the associate director will oversee assistive technology and the provision of auxiliary aids including
ASL and
CART. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
- Bachelors degree in Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, or Higher Education Administration/Leadership or related field.
- Experience and relative expertise in the interpretation of disability-related documentation for the purpose of verifying disability and identifying appropriate accommodation plans.
- Working knowledge of ADA, Fair Housing Act, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and policies and procedures associated with the provision of disability services within higher education.
- 3+ years of experience providing direct student service in a college or university disability support setting.
