Spacesaver is currently recruiting for Packer/Crater

This position starts at $20.00 an hour.

Schedule:



  • Monday through Thursday, - 4am-2pm
  • Mandatory Fridays 4am -12pm
  • Some Saturdays as needed


What You'll Do

  • Create with Purpose: Cut and assemble wooden pallets using powered and hand tools, turning raw materials into reliable shipping solutions.
  • Own the Process: Prepare, package, and crate products following strict safety and shipping standards.
  • Attention to Detail: Verify part quantities and types against customer orders, ensuring accuracy and identifying shortages before they become issues.
  • Be a Safety Champion: Follow all Spacesaver safety policies, ergonomic practices, and start-up/shut-down procedures.
  • Operate Like a Pro: Safely handle forklifts, hand tools, and material handling equipment.
  • Collaborate & Execute: Read and follow shop orders, work closely with team leads, and set up for success on every order.
  • Drive Quality: Inspect packaging for safe transport, report defects, and maintain documentation.
  • Stay Ahead: Meet or exceed production goals while practicing 5S principles-Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain.
  • Grow & Adapt: Support other work areas as needed, participate in continuous improvement, and embrace new challenges.
  • Leverage Technology: Use Spacesaver's ERP and Radley systems for tracking, labeling, and reporting.
  • Be Reliable: Adhere to scheduled hours, work overtime when needed, and always prioritize safety.

Required Skills

QUALIFICATIONS

*High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

* Achievement of a passing score on required basic math and measuring assessments.

* Complete all assigned developmental training plans, classes, and certifications.

* PC familiarity, basic navigation, scanning, and data entry.

* Ability to read and comprehend instructions and memos in the English language. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other team members. *Please note that translation assistant can be provided through a request to HR.

* Able to read tape measures and efficiently operates all other required measuring devices such as calipers, scales, and other measuring equipment.

* Proven ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.

* Good time management skills, ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and be attentive to detail.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
