Job Title:Cybersecurity Analyst

Location:Metairie, LA

Job Summary:We are seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Analyst to join our cybersecurity team at a shipyard supporting critical government contracts. This entry-to-mid-level role will focus on monitoring systems, supporting incident response, maintaining compliance with federal cybersecurity standards, and assisting in the administration of security tools. The ideal candidate will be eager to grow their expertise while supporting mission-critical operations in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Monitoring & Detection:Perform daily monitoring of SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and firewall logs for security events and anomalies.
  • Incident Response Support:Assist in triaging, investigating, and documenting cybersecurity incidents.
  • Vulnerability Management:Run scans, review results, and support remediation efforts with IT and engineering teams.
  • Compliance Support:Maintain evidence and documentation to support DFARS, NIST SP 800-171, and CMMC compliance activities.
  • Tool Maintenance:Support configuration, updates, and tuning of cybersecurity tools under supervision.
  • Awareness & Training:Participate in user awareness efforts and contribute to the culture of cybersecurity across the organization.
  • Team Collaboration:Work closely with the Senior Cybersecurity Analyst and Cybersecurity Manager to support ongoing security initiatives.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in cybersecurity or IT security operations.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
  • Participation in after-hours monitoring or incident response on occasion.


Preferred Certifications:



  • CompTIA Security+ (required or obtained within 6 months of hire)
  • CompTIA CySA+ or equivalent
  • GIAC, Cisco, or vendor-specific security certifications (a plus)


Skills and Abilities:



  • Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, DFARS).
  • Basic knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs) and common security tools.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
