Job Description




As a Security Officer - Chemical Facility Patrol in Lansing, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical or petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to support a sense of security, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting the needs of the chemical or petrochemical location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and along the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and observe for unusual conditions.
  • Monitor for potential hazards related to chemical or petrochemical operations and promptly report any concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with client representatives, visitors, and Allied Universal management regarding security-related matters.
  • Document observations, incidents, and/or activities as required by site procedures and Allied Universal standards.
  • Support access control procedures to help to deter unauthorized entry and promote a secure environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
