Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Chemical Patrol in Katy, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Professional with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas at a chemical or petrochemical location, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing exceptional customer service. Your visible presence and communication skills will help foster a welcoming environment for all personnel. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a chemical or petrochemical location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for the environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Observe and report any irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Communicate with Allied Universal management and site personnel regarding security-related matters and/or incidents.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points and verifying credentials as required by site policies.
  • Support emergency response efforts, including evacuations and/or drills, as directed by site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Willingness to work at locations with limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets or rustic guard shacks is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
