The city's award-winning Parks and Recreation Department is seeking motivated applicants who want to align themselves with a team that is keenly focused on customer service and providing only the best for the residents of this community. The selected individual will be responsible for providing customer service at the Chase Oaks Golf Course. Duties include preparing food and drink orders, cleaning public areas used for the consumption of food, stocking and maintaining inventory, conducting financial transactions and maintaining appropriate records. This position does not provide direction to other employees.

Essential Functions

  • Provides customer service by greeting golfers, provides facility information, and selling food and beverage products.
  • Maintains clean and sanitary conditions in public food consumption areas. Ensure all food preparation areas are cleaned and sanitized appropriately.
  • Processes transactions by operating a cash register, entering and recording sales transactions and taking payments.
  • Maintain inventory; replace stock as needed at the on-site food/beverage facility, range facility, and or beverage carts.

  • Assists in opening and closing facilities by organizing food and beverage areas, accounting for cash levels and completing appropriate paperwork for the reconciliation of check/cash levels and record of daily transactions.
  • Provides various administrative services by ensuring safety in eating areas, assisting with development of brochures, signs and other marketing tools, maintaining adequate levels of supplies and marketing tools, assisting with special events and providing clerical based services.

  • Job Requirements

    Education

    Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions, to understand simple processes and the routine operation of machines. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency.

    Experience

    No experience required. Must be at least eighteen years old.

    Certification and Other Requirements

    Valid Texas Class C Drivers License

    TABC Certification

    Work Schedule

    This position works a varied schedule of approximately 20 hours per week that may include working days, evenings and weekends. This position primarily works Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.


    Supplemental Information

    Reading

    Basic - Ability to recognize meaning of common two- or three-syllable words. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in elementary school up to high school. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.

    Math

    Intermediate - Ability to deal with system of real numbers; practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions and measurement. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in high school up to college. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.

    Writing

    Intermediate - Ability to write reports, prepare business letters, expositions, and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in high school up to college. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.

    Managerial

    Receives directions: The employee normally performs the duty assignment after receiving general instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results with some discretion when making selections among a few, easily identifiable choices. Assignment is reviewed upon completion.

    Supervisory / Organizational Control

    No responsibility for the direction or supervision of others.

    Complexity

    Work involves choices of action within limits set by standard practices and procedures. Professional judgment is required to apply the proper course of action.
