Responsibilities

Sabre Systems is currently recruiting for a Senior Platform Stores Integration Engineer to support the Advanced Development weapons/stores integration activities for the F/A-18 and EA-18G Program Office (PMA-265) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The purpose of this position is to provide technical support to the F/A-18 Weapon Systems Integration APMSE, who is responsible for conceiving, planning, organizing, and leading advanced development (AD) weapon/store integration activities and special projects on the domestic and FMS F/A-18A-D Hornet, F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, and EA-18G Growler aircraft. This includes conducting engineering analyses, testing and evaluation of weapon systems, related subsystems and components. Projects cover the entire life cycle and acquisition phases from concept development and testing to production and decommissioning.

The selected candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Assisting the Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE) & Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads with identifying & developing systems engineering and platform integration requirements, and ensuring the technical adequacy of all acquisition documentation
  • Review program documentation for impact and opportunities related to store development, production and deployment. Participate in the engineering requirements process and program team design reviews.
  • Assist the Platform/Commodity Class Desks and IPT Leads with identifying & developing systems engineering and platform integration requirements, and ensuring these requirements are addressed in the Store Integration Plan (SIP) throughout the program development, integration, and test
  • Support Interface Control Working Group (ICWG), develop and update system interface control documents (ICDs)
  • Manage, tailor & execute the Airworthiness processes, manage & coordinate with NAVAIR Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Technical Program Offices (TPO) and Prime Contractor representatives as required for Store Certification data and the review & approval of Technical Data Package (TDP) deliverables. Draft and review interim and permanent flight clearances for technical accuracy and safety of flight.
  • Ensure that individual efforts are extended across other teams by focusing individual program and product team efforts in achieving coherent, integrated solutions.
  • Provide technical support for the development & platform integration Statements of Work and Contract Data Requirements List
  • Provide technical leadership in prioritizing test and integration deficiencies
  • Identify potential problems, coordinating specific engineering competency solutions, conducting meetings and conferences, reviewing and commenting on flight clearance requests, preparation of technical directives and associated data, engineering change proposals, and preliminary specification change notices

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Education:
    • MS or MA degree from an accredited college or university.
    • ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience.
  • Minimum years of experience:
    • At least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) of which must be directly related to DoD systems. Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required.
  • Key Skills:
    • Experience that demonstrates technical savvy to understand and interpret technically related concepts, approaches, and capabilities showing an understanding of system of systems interaction of various components and project their influence on the whole.
    • Experience that demonstrates an understanding of program schedules and planning timelines including requirements generation and the inputs required to build a successful program.
    • Experience that demonstrates knowledge of how various systems trades will influence the end user experience.
    • Experience that demonstrates creating a vision for a capability or product that doesn't exist today, and extensive planning and staffing necessary to see it come to fruition.
    • Must have weapons and store integration experience.
    • Highly desired to have airworthiness experience and be familiar with NAVAIR airworthiness requirements, flight clearances, and safety of flight.
    • Experience with F/A-18 and EA-18G Growler aircraft is highly desired.
    • Security Clearance: Top Secret / SCI eligible (not required for applying).
    • Work Location: 100% On-Site at Patuxent River, MD collocated with PMA-265.
  • Must have or be able to obtain an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Compensation Statement

At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows: $150,000.00 - $170,000.00
