About the Role

As a Process Engineer - Innovation & Scale, you will be at the forefront of launching and expanding our newest product line within the Elixir Strings Supply Chain team. Your work will directly impact the reliability, efficiency, and growth of our manufacturing operations for new Elixir Strings products. You'll collaborate with cross functional teams, lead high impact projects, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. This is an opportunity to shape the future of Elixir Strings by developing and implementing cutting edge processes and systems that enable rapid scale up and sustainable growth. This role will be at one of our facilities in Elkton, Maryland. Pay and Benefits:
- $96,000 - $130,000 per year

Responsibilities
- Embody our "why" - creating tools that inspire musicians to create, express, and connect
- Create and implement manufacturing aids, troubleshooting guides, and process documentation to reduce downtime, support efficient operations, and enable smooth knowledge transfer for new products
- Support specification, selection, and commissioning of new Elixir Strings equipment: develop user requirements, evaluate vendors, and oversee installation and qualification.
- Develop, implement, and scale new or modified equipment and processes to meet product demand
- Prepare and maintain process documentation, SOPs, and operating instructions
- Understand critical process and quality parameters; partner internally and externally to ensure reliable, fit-for-use products that meet all specs and customer requirements
- Plan and execute technical work using statistical techniques including Design of Experiments (DoE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Utilize Gore project practices and GBS/lean tools to effectively prioritize, plan, and drive a wide range of process projects throughout the development cycle: development, scale-up, validation, and improvement (improved safety, cost, quality, capability, and capacity)
- Develop and sustain standardized operator training, recertification, and supporting materials to minimize variability and improve manufacturing consistency
- Partner with quality to resolve supplier non-conformances, lead supplier trend analyses, and optimize product performance through raw materials
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering or a related science field, with a minimum 7 years of hands-on engineering work experience
- Experience leading IQ/OQ/PQ validations for new equipment and processes
- Experience working with external partners or supplier, including managing communication and feedback around issues or challenges
- Experience leveraging structured problem-solving approach (such as 8D, 8-Step, DMAIC or PDCA to drive root cause analysis (using tools such as 5-Why, Why Trees, and Fishbone analysis)
- Ability to specify, select and commision new equipment
- Ability to identify critical issues and failure modes, create a framework of action to address these issues, and assess root cause including effective risk-based decision making
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan, and drive multiple projects concurrently from development to completion, against agreed upon timelines and deliverables
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team, including influencing across functions
- Ability to document, communicate, and present technical bodies of work to both technical and functional leader audiences.
- Ability to travel up to 10%

- Experience working within a Quality Management System
- Experience with and/or desire to execute and manage quality related elements of manufacturing
