Overview

Nakupuna Companies is seeking a Chemical Logistics Center (CLC) Team Coordinator to oversee day-to-day operation of the Chemical Logistics Center at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Western Currency Facility (BEP WCF) in Fort Worth, Texas. The CLC includes the Consolidated Chemical Storage Area (CCSA), Flammable Liquid Storage Building (FLSB), Solvent Dispensing Area, and Central Waste Accumulation Area (CWAA).

The CLC Team Coordinator will lead the technician team to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient handling of chemicals and waste, support uninterrupted production by managing chemical and solvent inventories, and maintain strict adherence to federal, state, and local environmental and safety requirements.



Responsibilities

    Lead and coordinate daily CLC operations across the CCSA, FLSB, Solvent Dispensing Area, and CWAA in compliance with applicable hazardous waste, industrial waste, fire code, and BEP procedures.

  • Oversee solvent and chemical inventory management, ensuring adequate stock levels, proper segregation, shelf labeling, locator/lot systems, and timely distribution to production and support departments.

  • Ensure FLSB operations maintain the required solvent tote and drum inventory and support the Solvent Dispensing System and Solvent Distillation Units, including coordination of maintenance services beyond routine contractor capabilities.

  • Coordinate CWAA operations, including waste receipt, logging, labeling, tracking, inspections, waste shipments, and interface with disposal contractors and the Government.

  • Oversee CCSA chemical storage and monthly inventories, resolving discrepancies between physical and system inventory and monitoring chemical expiration dates.

  • Direct CLC technicians in collection of regulated waste from Satellite Accumulation Areas (SAAs), operation of the solvent wipe centrifuge, and management of related hazardous waste streams.

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of CLC-related forms, spreadsheets, and MSS data entry for receiving, storage, dispensing, transfers, and waste management.

  • Coordinate with the Environmental Engineering team to support regulatory reporting and data (e.g., waste tracking, solvent use tracking, STEERS entries, annual waste summaries).

  • Maintain housekeeping and safety standards across the CLC, including equipment inspections (forklifts, racking systems, secondary containment) and coordination of corrective actions.

  • Provide training and day-to-day guidance to CLC technicians, reinforcing safe work practices and compliance with BEP environmental, health, and safety policies.

  • Serve as primary CLC point of contact with the Government for scheduling waste shipments, coordinating chemical orders, and supporting inspections and audits.

  • Prepare or review incident/spill documentation and support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to CLC operations.



Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of hazardous materials handling, chemical storage, and waste management practices, including Federal and Texas Industrial Solid Waste regulations.

  • Experience with warehouse or logistics operations involving chemical products, flammable liquids, and hazardous waste.

  • Experience leading small teams or coordinating technician-level staff in an industrial or logistics environment.

  • Strong inventory management and recordkeeping skills, including experience with inventory or materials management systems (e.g., MSS or similar).

  • Ability to interpret and apply procedures, plans, and regulatory requirements for CLC operations.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with Government personnel, internal teams, and service vendors.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond to changing priorities and operational needs.

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited post-secondary institution in environmental science, chemistry, logistics, industrial technology, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in chemical logistics, hazardous materials management, or related industrial operations, including at least 2 years in a lead or coordinator capacity.

Clearance

  • This position requires an active or the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Location

  • Work is performed on Government site at the BEP Western Currency Facility in Fort Worth, Texas, during normal operating hours (generally 06:00-15:30), with flexibility as needed to support production and shipment schedules.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in industrial warehouse and outdoor environments, including exposure to temperature extremes.

  • Ability to lift, move, and maneuver drums, totes, and other containers with appropriate equipment and teamwork.

  • Ability to operate and inspect forklifts and similar material-handling equipment and to wear required PPE.
