Auria is looking to hire a Principal Software Engineer to support the C2BMC program. This role is ONSITE in Colorado Springs, CO. The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a vital part of the Missile Defense System. It provides a key operational platform that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively manage networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC offers layered missile defense capabilities, delivering an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It acts as a force multiplier by linking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations worldwide and locally to improve overall effectiveness. Additionally, C2BMC is a crucial part of all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's current and future capabilities. As a member of the Regional Applications Agile Release Train (RA ART) of the Missile Defense National Team for Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC), this role will be responsible for collaborating across the ART to implement and maintain a standardized CI/CD pipeline for all Product Teams within the RA ART, covering two development sites. The candidate will need to work closely with the Cyber and Platforms ART to ensure that the tools and applications in the pipeline are maintained and meet security and other requirements. They will also be expected to provide regular updates on the pipeline's status and work to resolve any issues that arise. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO: Experience working within classified environments to implement CI/CD pipelines supporting multiple software releases and build versions Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess the flexibility to adapt in a highly dynamic environment Need to collaborate effectively with multiple disciplinary teams, especially Systems Admins, IT, and Security WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES: Mission-Driven Professional: Collaborative contributor motivated by the opportunity to develop cutting-edge solutions that protect and serve both the nation and the world. A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master's degree (preferred) in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start Candidates with an active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) are strongly preferred at the time of application. If such a certification is not held, it must be obtained within 40 days of the start date. The selected candidate will be responsible for securing and maintaining their DoD 8140 certification. Candidates who fail to obtain the prescribed certification within 40 days will be evaluated for removal Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% to support business needs WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS: Having an active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) at the time of application is highly preferred Linux system administration and security implementations Experience with various tools such as: Git Nexus Jenkins Jira Confluence Proficiency with CI/CD, especially within a classified development environment Familiarity with DEVSECOPS practices Skills in Linux shell scripting, Ansible playbook creation and management, Security-Enhanced (SE) Linux, and Red Hat repository administration Experience working in an Agile development setting Knowledge of: STIG Multi-Factor Authentication OpenShift OpenStack VMware ESXi QAS/VAS Windows Active Directory, backup and recovery, and container orchestration products Understanding of PaaS and SaaS concepts Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, and their application to IT and IT products PAY TRANSPARENCY: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $105,000 - $121,000 APPLICATION DEADLINE: February 2, 2026 THE AURIA TEAM: Auria is a provider of solutions and software in support of complex Space, National Security, and Cyber missions of federal, international, and commercial customers.
