Overview

Nakupuna Consulting seeks an Information Technology (IT) Equipment Manager with strong critical thinking, analytical, communication, and documentation skills. The IT Equipment Manager is responsible for developing policies, maintaining oversight, and ensuring effective control and monitoring of IT assets. This position requires intermediate Excel skills, structured documentation practices, and basic data analytics to support leadership decisionmaking in asset management and process improvement.



Responsibilities

The following reflects management's definition of key functions for this job and reserves the right to assign additional duties as necessary to meet operational requirements:

    Ensure all accountable property is accurately reported in the designated asset property system of record, using intermediate Excel validation and dataquality controls to enhance reporting accuracy and leadership visibility.
  • Input, maintain, and update property records using structured documentation practices and Excel-based data to ensure completeness, traceability, and support process improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies/organizations to deliver timely, datadriven asset management insights that help guide leadership decisions.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders with professionally documented findings supported by Excelbased summaries or basic analytics that improve decision clarity.
  • Support compliance with all applicable DoD guidance and organizational directives through meticulous documentation and robust asset datatracking practices that strengthen audit readiness.
  • Schedule, conduct, and document property accounting audits using standardized templates, Exceldriven review methods, and trend identification to highlight risks and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Provide agency support for IT asset acquisitions and perform inventory compliance checks using Excel models and structured documentation to identify patterns, forecast needs, and support leadership recommendations.
  • Automate equipment management processes or reporting needs using intermediate Excel functions, basic Power BI dashboards, or simple analytical workflows that enhance efficiency and support leadership decisionmaking.
  • Document and track all work using the programapproved ticketing system with detailed, structured entries that support transparency, traceability, and ongoing process optimization.
  • Maintain IT asset lifecycle from receipt and deployment through warranty monitoring and end-of-life replacement.
  • Manage collection, remove, and documentation for the disposition of out-of-warranty IT equipment through approved DoD processes on both classified and unclassified networks.


Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong selfmotivation and ability to work independently while producing consistently accurate Excelbased reports and organized documentation with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate adherence to procedures and DoD compliance requirements supported by disciplined documentation practices and structured workflows.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly summarize analytical findings for various stakeholders and leadership.
  • Proficiency in technical communication and documentation, including creation of standardized templates, guides, and reporting artifacts.
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills, including the ability to use Excel to identify trends, detect inconsistencies, and support datadriven asset management decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining organized documentation and analytically structured work products.
  • Intermediate Excel capabilities (pivot tables, lookup functions, conditional formulas) and basic Power BI or related data visualization tools for leadershipready reporting.
  • Ability to interpret equipmentrelated data using Excel analysis and present actionable insights to equipment managers, equipment users, or senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to implement simple task automation or workflow efficiencies using Excel macros, templates, or welldocumented processes.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent years of related work or military experience.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Prior experience supporting DoD IT environments or service in the U.S. military is preferred.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification is preferred.

Clearance Requirements: Must currently have an active TS/SCI security clearance. Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Work Location:

  • Position is based in Arlington, VA.
  • Must be on-site five (5) days per week.
  • Occasional travel (1-2 weeks per year) within the Continental U.S. or to Hawaii may be required.
  • This position may require working outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet operational or project demands.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation requirement:

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift desktop computers, laptops, and monitors to place at customer workstations or load into a van for destruction.
  • Ability to safely drive a government-owned vehicle for an hour (one-way) to turn in equipment.
