Job Description

We are currently hiring a FT Commercialization Data Specialist hybrid in Boston, MA or Milton, DE.

The Commercialization Data Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and operational readiness of key commercial data assets, including Bills of Materials (BOM), Part Numbers, Finished Goods SKUs and Universal Product Codes (UPC)/Shipping Container Codes (SCC). This role serves as a data steward, driving data quality and maintaining governance standards across systems in support of the BBC innovation projects. The specialist collaborates cross-functionally with teams in Commercialization, Master Data, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Creative, and IT to support strategic projects and enable seamless product commercialization. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, a proactive/collaborative mindset, and the ability to operate across business and technical topics

*A Hybrid position at Boston Beer requires that our coworkers reside within commuting distance to be onsite according to their teams' weekly schedule.

What You'll Brew:

* Ensure timely and accurate requesting setup of commercial data for Packaging Part Numbers and Finished Goods SKUs to support innovation projects.
* Creating and maintaining Universal Product Codes (UPC) and Shipping Container Codes (SCC) and the artwork proof approvals for UPCs/SCCs to also support innovation projects and lifecycle changes.
* Initiating the Bills of Materials (BOM) for innovation projects as well as monitoring the completion of the BOMs.
* Act as a data steward, ensuring consistency, completeness, and accuracy across platforms including SAP, Workfront (Adobe), GS1, Syniti (MDM).
* Monitor and resolve data quality and process issues through root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives, recognizing ambiguity and seeking clarification.
* Ambassadorand change agent, championing data stewardship and management
* Partner with cross-functional teams including Commercialization, Marketing, Sales, Legal, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Creative, and IT to support strategic initiatives and commercialization efforts.
* Support project teams by providing subject matter expertise on commercial data processes and systems.
* Identify opportunities to streamline data operations and improve efficiency through automation or system enhancements.
* Follows standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintains documentation of data processes, workflows, and SOPs.
* Decision-making and Autonomy (The capacity and authority to make organizational decisions, autonomy in decision-making, complexity of decisions, impact of decisions, problem-solving)
* Ability to make complex decisions to support the enterprise data strategy
* Coordinate, manage and complete tasks and projects with minimal oversight
* Utilizes Workfront to maintain tasks, and master data applicable to the assigned project
* Ad-hoc projects as the business evolves

* 1-3 years of professional experience in data management/governance or in a data-focused analytical role, with a strong foundation in data quality, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.

* Process Optimization: Applies strong process management and analytical skills to integrate technology and streamline workflows for improved efficiency.
* Analytical Problem Solving: Skilled in identifying bottlenecks, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing data-driven solutions to resolve issues.
* Clear Communication: Communicates technical and business concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, both in writing and verbally.
* Agility & Resilience: Thrives in dynamic environments, adapting quickly to shifting priorities and evolving business needs.
* Continuous Improvement Mindset: Embodies BBC's value of collaboration and innovation, challenging the status quo to drive meaningful change.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with enterprise applications
* CPG / Manufacturing industry experience
* Awareness of formal data practice/governance models

Level: 7

At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $50,500 and $106,600. However, it's important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location. Additionally, this position qualifies for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance, and certain sales roles might include a car allowance.
