The Georgia Network for Electric Mobility (GNEM) is a statewide strategy platform and publishing think tank on electric and connected mobility. It is the main hub for the University of Georgia's university-wide e-mobility initiative. Embedded within the University of Georgia and privately founded by our founding partners Cox Automotive, Kia Georgia, and Georgia Power in collaboration with the UGA College of Engineering, GNEM convenes industry, government, and academic partners across the Southeast's Battery Belt to advance advanced automotive manufacturing and future mobility. Its work products (technical reports, white papers, policy briefs, and regional and statewide convenings and roundtables) are distributed across Georgia, the Southeast, and globally.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) and Canva.
  • Experience producing technical publications or policy communications.
  • Strong photography and video editing skills.
  • Demonstrated success managing digital marketing campaigns and analytics.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading ability across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with public policy, industry, or research communications preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Position Summary
This Digital Marketing and Communications Professional will work with UGA's Georgia Network for Electric Mobility ( GNEM) design execution, production, and dissemination of GNEM's external communications, publications, and digital media. This role supports high-visibility, multi-stakeholder initiatives, including the promotion and coverage of regional and statewide convenings, roundtables, and forums.
This position involves creative and technical duties comparable to external consulting and policy research communications standards, with accountability for deliverables distributed to policymakers, industry leaders, and the public.

It is the main hub for the University of Georgia's university-wide e-mobility initiative. Embedded within the University of Georgia and privately founded by our founding partners Cox Automotive, Kia Georgia, and Georgia Power in collaboration with the UGA College of Engineering, GNEM convenes industry, government, and academic partners across the Southeast's Battery Belt to advance advanced automotive manufacturing and future mobility. GNEM reports to the Provost's Office by way of the E-Mobility Executive Council and to an external Board of Advisors, ensuring accountability at the highest levels of the university and with key private-sector and public partners. Its work products (technical reports, white papers, policy briefs, and regional and statewide convenings and roundtables) are distributed across Georgia, the Southeast, and globally.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Understand fundamental design principles including layout, composition, and visual hierarchy.
  • Communicate design ideas effectively with faculty, staff, students and collaborators.
  • Familiarity with social media outlets, online platforms, and digital marketing. Familiar/experienced with a camera, phone, or other recording device to capture photos and video for promotional materials.
  • Identify and solve design problems creatively.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and online platforms for designing digital assets.
  • Work simultaneously on multiple projects, each with a different deadline.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Premiere Pro), Canva, and other advanced editing tools.
