Part-Time Commercial Maintenance Technician

Location: Tyler, TX

Pay: $25-$28 per hour

Schedule: 15 hours/week



  • Monday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM



Job Summary

We're seeking a reliable Part-Time Commercial Maintenance Technician to support multiple commercial properties across Tyler. This role is responsible for completing preventive maintenance, repairs, and facility upkeep while delivering excellent customer service. A company van and tools are provided, and you will travel locally between customer sites.

This position is ideal for someone with strong multi-trade experience who enjoys hands-on work in a field environment.

Responsibilities



  • Complete preventive maintenance and corrective repairs according to work orders
  • Perform minor plumbing tasks (unclog drains, repair leaks, replace fixtures)
  • Complete routine carpentry and painting tasks (patch drywall, match paint, small repairs)
  • Conduct minor electrical repairs allowed by state law (replace outlets, switches, lighting components)
  • Perform HVAC, equipment, and building system checks as needed
  • Conduct site and asset inspections
  • Use a tablet/smartphone to complete work orders, log notes, upload photos, and submit reports
  • Maintain tools, obtain materials, and track expenses
  • Communicate professionally with customers to ensure satisfaction
  • Attend required safety training and follow OSHA and company safety standards
  • Provide estimates for larger repairs or projects
  • Support additional tasks as assigned



Qualifications



  • High school diploma/GED or trade certification preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience in maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or related trades
  • Prior experience in facility maintenance, construction, landscaping, or janitorial services is highly preferred
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Ability to read and follow safety procedures, manuals, and work orders
  • Ability to operate mobile devices, work order systems, and basic computer software (Microsoft Office, database tools)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across multiple building systems
  • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as climbing, kneeling, and crawling
  • Daily local travel required
