Overview

Job Purpose

This position requires an ideal candidate to perform a variety of purchasing functions related to the defined Procurement process in compliance with the company's Procurement policy. This includes but is not limited to creation of purchase requisitions and purchase orders, addressing invoice inquiries as well as supporting employees across the globe in the Procurement process.

Responsibilities

  • Assist employees across the company in understanding the Procurement process and navigating applicable tools
  • Work closely with suppliers to obtain quotes and negotiate pricing while meeting the business needs of internal users
  • Submit purchase requisitions and process purchase orders as necessary
  • Work closely with internal users to make sure that receipts for goods are posted in the system in a timely manner
  • Work closely with suppliers, internal users and the Accounts Payable team to ensure that all invoice hold escalations are resolved in a timely manner
  • Handle specific purchasing categories as assigned
  • Learn the specifics of all purchasing categories and be able to back up other team members as necessary
  • Prepare various Procurement reports
  • Work collaboratively with all Procurement team members on other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Experience

  • College degree and 2+ years of Procurement experience
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills are crucial
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Work well in a fast paced environment by prioritizing and meeting competing deadlines
  • Must be efficient in problem solving and identifying work-arounds
  • Must possess sound judgment and meet ethical obligations to perform purchasing duties on behalf of the company
  • Must have experience in preparing clear and concise specifications and other documentation
  • Ability to communicate with vendors and internal customers to exchange information, resolve discrepancies and expedite orders in a professional manner
  • Use basic mathematical calculations quickly and accurately
  • Computer literate with standard software packages and appropriate Procurement software
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Collaborative and thorough work style

Desirable Knowledge and Experience

  • Knowledge of Oracle Financial Cloud Procurement module
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow
