TRUCKING SUPERVISOR(Hawaii Island)

The Opportunity

  • TruckingSupervisor at a growth-oriented energy company

  • Work with a cohesive team to serve a small community

  • Reporting to theHealth, Safety andSecurityManager, this roleis responsible forsupervising,trainingand directing fuel truck drivers in the day-to-day Hawaii Island trucking operation.

  • Responsible for the fleet's preventive maintenance program and coordinating services for repairs.

  • Will oversee dispatch forHawaii Islandteamwhich involvesscheduling and assigning vehiclesto deliver petroleum products.

  • Opportunity to consistentlyprovide exemplary customer servicewheninteractingwith drivers and customers to ensure customer orders arefulfilledandaccount inventories aremaintainedappropriately.

Keyactivitiesinclude:

  • Strong, workingknowledgeofcompany policies and procedures, andresponsible forupdatingprocedures and driver manuals as needed.

  • Coordinate training for drivers on company policies,proceduresDOT and other governmental regulations.

  • Perform periodic and annual check rides, defensive driving training andassistwith incident investigations.

  • Coordinate wet and dry service with shops and track/document all repairs.

  • Must be familiar with DOT requirements concerning transportation of hazardous materials, reporting requirements, record keeping requirements, etc.

  • Requires minimum 5 years of incident/accident-free tanker (hazmat) driving experience on both Truck/Trailer and Semi-trailer units.

  • Requires familiarity with personal computers and their operation.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills to communicate and effectively train staff; mustpossessthe ability to guide,mentorand motivate drivers.

  • Some Mechanical skills and knowledge of Heavy Trucks and Petroleum Tankersrequiredto complete minor repairs on vehicles i.e., changing out internal valves, discharge valves, repair air leaks, and any other issues as needed.

  • Communicatefrequentlyand effectively withstaff.

  • Regular schedule includes weekends, holidays and on call 24/7 for emergencies.

  • Performs other duties as assigned orrequired.

  • Will perform driving duties as business needs require

Qualifications

To meet the basic qualifications forthis role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.Tocomply withthe regulations at this work location,successfulapplicants must be eligible to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential). Additionalqualifications include:

  • High School Diplomaor equivalent required

  • Technical training and/or college degree desired

  • A satisfactory driving record asdeterminedby the Company.

  • A valid commercial driver's license (CDL), Type A with X and T endorsements.

  • Meets all applicable DOT qualification requirements.

  • Smith System Trainer certificationpreferredormaybeobtainedafter hire

  • Leadership experience and skills to effectively communicate with customers, vendors and hourlyworkforcepreferred.

  • Mustpossessthe ability to effectively guide,mentorand motivate drivers.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work underpressureand meet critical deadlines.

  • Mustpossessa valid U.S. Driver's License

  • Mustmaintainactive Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)

Hiring Range:

The hiring range for this position is $112,000to $140,000annually, plusnon-discretionary bonus.The candidate selected will be placed according to his/her skills and qualifications.
