This role oversees cross-functional projects to improve sales growth, expense management and efficient labor management. It collaborates with internal partners on new initiatives and training, supports business growth and profitability, and manages labor strategy, scheduling, facilities management, and store expenses.

Position will follow a hybrid schedule: Monday-Wednesday in Downer's Grove IL office, Thursday-Friday remote. Travel is expected to stores.

Key Deliverables:

  • Executes strategic initiatives across regions by collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams to ensure all tasks and projects are meticulously planned, organized, and delivered with precision.
  • Focuses on activities that align with long-term business objectives, such as scheduling optimization, facility cost reduction, and supply expense management for all store operations.
  • Participates in decisions regarding investments, promotional and merchandising strategies, and project timing, ensuring comprehensive collaboration and oversight throughout rollouts.
  • Coordinates and develops company programs in partnership with operations, merchandising, marketing, and other key stakeholders.
  • Serves as a gatekeeper for various initiatives within designated areas of responsibility; actively contributes to investment decisions and project timelines, guaranteeing appropriate collaboration and supervision during implementation.
  • Provides strategic direction for all service-related processes, programs, and technology, ensuring regulatory compliance. Oversees store scheduling, service-related projects, activities, and deliverables.
  • Manages all labor initiatives to support operational efficiency while driving sales growth, partnering with the Operations team to achieve labor targets through effective reporting, utilization of tools, and communication of best practices.
  • Directs the Facility team by overseeing maintenance and repair activities for grocery store facilities and equipment, including defining project scope, soliciting bids, coordinating and supervising work, inspecting completed projects, and managing payments.
  • Cultivates a culture that promotes teamwork and employee engagement, inspiring a commitment to customer service, supporting colleagues, and fostering competitive success.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in store operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in organizational management, including handling multiple priorities with attention to detail.
  • Project management experience.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to lead through influence and resolve conflict.
  • Knowledge of change management processes.
  • Experience addressing complex issues across functions using data and analytics.
  • Communication skills in both oral and written formats across all organizational levels, including upward communication.
  • Organizational agility and flexibility.
  • Ability to assess urgency and allocate resources appropriately based on priority.

The pay range for this position is listed below. The actual rate offered will meet or surpass the legal wage requirement for the job's location.

$100,000.00 - $157,500.00

This pay range represents the minimum and maximum base pay for the position, which is determined by factors such as market data, the qualifications required, the level of responsibilities associated with the role and other roles at this same level. Specific pay rates will be within this range and based on your experience, qualifications, and skills compared to the internal team of this role.

Compensation for this position also includes incentive bonus opportunities that may vary based on individual and company performance. Specific details will be discussed during the hiring process.
