Position Title: Technician III - Quality Chemical Lab S00576 Principle Purpose of Position
- Prepare and inspect test specimens; reject poor-quality samples and request replacements.
- Operate equipment (abrasive saws, grinders, drill presses) and perform preventive/corrective maintenance.
- Register and identify samples in LIMS; manage retention/disposal per SOP.
- Conduct analyses using:
- C/S combustion instruments
- N/O fusion instruments
- Optical Emission Spectrometers (OES)
- X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometers (XRF)
- Maintain instruments per SOP and apply statistical/type correction methodologies.
- Review and correct test data using certified reference materials.
- Train/support junior technicians on LIMS and lab processes.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 2+ years relevant lab experience.
- 1 year as Technician II required.
Education:
- High school diploma required.
- Preferred: Associate Degree in Chemistry or 2 years in physical science curriculum.
Key Competencies
- Chemical lab testing procedures, LIMS system.
- Equipment: C/S, N/O, OES, XRF.
- Statistical analysis and type correction methodology.
- Problem-solving, customer response, planning, teamwork.
- Ability to operate lab instruments and related software.
