Aviation Designer (Civil Engineering / Airfield Design / Transportation Design Engineer)

We have an exciting opportunity for an Aviation Designer to join our growing aviation team in Nebraska. This role is ideal for candidates with backgrounds in civil engineering, airfield design, airport engineering, transportation engineering, or site development who are looking to make an impact on critical aviation infrastructure projects.

As part of our expanding aviation group, you will work alongside experienced engineers and designers to support strategic initiatives that drive the growth of the practice. You will contribute to the planning, analysis, and design of airport and airfield projects, prepare engineering calculations and documentation, and coordinate project elements for a variety of clients. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while developing the technical and leadership skills needed to advance your career in aviation engineering.

Candidates with experience in Civil Engineer, Airfield Designer, Airport Engineer, Transportation Designer, Civil Designer, or Site Design Engineer roles are encouraged to apply. Recent graduates are also welcome to apply.


Location

This individual will work out of either our Lincoln or Omaha office on a hybrid schedule.


The Impact You Will Have

  • Contribute to the design and development of airport and airfield infrastructure projects alongside experienced aviation professionals.
  • Support civil airfield design production, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Perform engineering analyses, calculations, and design tasks for aviation projects.
  • Develop detailed design plans and technical documentation appropriate for each project.
  • Apply industry standards, codes, and best practices to real-world engineering challenges.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and pay items.
  • Gain increasing ownership and responsibility for project deliverables and client outcomes.



What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
  • E.I.T. certification (or desire to obtain a P.E. license in the future) preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of aviation, airfield, transportation, or civil site design experience preferred; recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office products
  • Interest in aviation, airport, and civil infrastructure projects
  • Experience preparing plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical documentation
  • Understanding of engineering design standards and codes
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to support both office and field inspection tasks, including occasional travel to project sites #LI-HV1
